"I did three watercolor/gouache paintings for historian Phillip Mead showing Connecticut soldier Joseph Plumb Martin at various points in his service during the revolution. For those don't know who Martin is he wrote the very best reminisces of a private soldier of the revolution. This study is him at the end of the war in the uniform of the Corps of Sappers and Miners. To see the earlier studies scroll down. Might be one more of him , not sure yet. The musket is a French m1774 and the sword is captured British infantry hanger." Don Troiani, April 16, 2026
