"I did three watercolor/gouache paintings for historian Phillip Mead showing Connecticut soldier Joseph Plumb Martin at various points in his service during the revolution. For those don't know who Martin is he wrote the very best reminisces of a private soldier of the revolution. This study is him in the 8th Connecticut Regiment 1778 wearing one of the imported French lottery coats and now armed with a French musket." Don Troiani, April 15, 2026
